PEDIATRIC CHIROPRACTIC CARE

Gentle, Age-Appropriate Care for Growing Bodies

Children are constantly growing, moving, falling, carrying, training, and adapting — and their chiropractic care should reflect that.

At Trinity Chiropractic Center, Dr. Branden adapts each visit to the child's age, size, comfort level, activity level, and individual needs.

From very gentle infant care to helping active kids and teenagers with musculoskeletal concerns, our goal is to provide thoughtful care in an environment where both children and parents feel comfortable asking questions.

CARE THAT CHANGES WITH THEM

Pediatric Care Doesn't Look the Same at Every Age

The approach depends on the child in front of us.

Older children and teenagers may receive some of the same core chiropractic techniques Dr. Branden uses with adults, but the positioning and amount of force are adjusted for their age, size, development, and comfort.

Infants and very young children require a much gentler approach using techniques appropriate for their smaller, developing bodies.

Dr. Branden evaluates what is appropriate for each child and adapts care as they grow and their needs change.

CARE FOR REAL LIFE

Growing Bodies Face Different Kinds of Stress

The reasons families bring their children to Trinity can look very different depending on the child's age and activity level.

01

Infant Discomfort & Tension

Very gentle care for the smallest patients

Parents sometimes bring infants to us when they seem uncomfortable, tense, difficult to settle, or simply don't seem comfortable in certain positions.

Dr. Branden evaluates each baby individually and uses very gentle, age-appropriate techniques when chiropractic care is appropriate.

Because infant discomfort can have many causes, chiropractic care does not replace evaluation by your child's pediatrician.

02

Growing Bodies

Everyday movement, play, and activity

Childhood involves plenty of running, jumping, climbing, falling, sitting, and growing.

When a child is experiencing stiffness, muscle tension, discomfort, or limited movement, Dr. Branden can evaluate the muscles and joints involved and determine whether chiropractic care may be appropriate.

03

Active Kids & Teen Athletes

Care for bodies that work hard

Sports can place a lot of demands on growing muscles and joints.

Dr. Branden works with young athletes experiencing concerns involving the feet and ankles, leg tightness or cramping, muscle tension, joint stiffness, and discomfort associated with training and activity.

Care may include chiropractic adjustments, manual therapy, or other supportive approaches based on what he finds.

04

School & Backpacks

Daily demands don't stop when practice ends

Many students in our area carry their backpacks throughout the entire school day without access to lockers.

If a child is experiencing neck, shoulder, or back discomfort, muscular tension, or stiffness, we can evaluate how they are moving and determine whether a musculoskeletal concern may be contributing.

We can also talk with families about backpack fit, how it is being carried, and other everyday habits that may affect comfort.

FOR ACTIVE KIDS

Sports Ask a Lot From a Growing Body

Running, jumping, lifting, cutting, throwing, and repetitive training all place different demands on muscles and joints.

Dr. Branden looks beyond the exact spot that hurts and considers how the surrounding joints, muscles, and soft tissues are moving together.

Depending on the concern, care may involve chiropractic adjustments, work around the feet or ankles, manual therapy for muscle tension, or other supportive care.

Our focus is helping address musculoskeletal concerns that may be getting in the way of comfortable movement and participation.

Foot & ankle concerns

02

03

Muscle tension

04

Joint stiffness or restricted movement

05

SCHOOL DAYS

It's Not Just Sports

A child can spend hours sitting at a desk, looking down at schoolwork or devices, walking between classes, and carrying everything they need for the day on their back.

EVERYDAY PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Backpacks, School Days, and Growing Bodies

Sometimes discomfort isn't connected to one big injury.

It can build during everyday routines — carrying a backpack from class to class, sitting for long periods, looking down at a laptop, or moving through a busy school and activity schedule.

If your child is regularly complaining about neck, shoulder, back, or muscular discomfort, we can evaluate the area and talk through what may be contributing.

INDIVIDUALIZED TECHNIQUE

“Gentle” Doesn't Mean Every Child Gets the Same Adjustment

Pediatric care is adapted to the child.

For many older children and teenagers, Dr. Branden may use the same core chiropractic techniques he uses with adults while modifying force and positioning to fit the patient.

For infants and younger children, the approach is considerably gentler and may involve lighter-force manual or instrument-assisted techniques when appropriate.

The specific approach is based on age, size, comfort, examination findings, and clinical needs.

01

Age-appropriate force and positioning

02

Manual or instrument-assisted techniques when appropriate

03

Comfort and communication throughout the visit

04

Care adapted as the child grows and changes

FOR PARENTS

You Should Understand Your Child's Care Too

We want parents to feel informed and comfortable with what is happening during their child's visit.

01

We Listen First

Tell us what's been going on, what you've noticed, and what questions or concerns you have.

02

We Explain the Approach

Dr. Branden can explain what he is evaluating and what type of technique he plans to use before beginning care.

03

We Respect Their Comfort

Children don't all respond the same way to a new environment. We want visits to feel calm, respectful, and appropriate for the child.

WHEN SOMETHING DOESN'T FEEL RIGHT

When Might a Parent Consider an Evaluation?

Chiropractic care isn't a replacement for your child's pediatrician.

But if your child is experiencing a musculoskeletal concern, discomfort after activity, stiffness, restricted movement, muscle tension, or another issue involving the joints and muscles, a chiropractic evaluation can help determine whether chiropractic care may be appropriate.

If Dr. Branden believes a concern should be evaluated by your child's pediatrician or another healthcare professional, we'll recommend that rather than trying to address something outside the scope of chiropractic care.

AN IMPORTANT PART OF PEDIATRIC CARE

Knowing When Not to Adjust Matters Too

A child's health history, age, symptoms, and examination all matter when determining whether chiropractic care is appropriate.

Our goal isn't simply to adjust every child who walks through the door. It's to determine what makes sense for the child in front of us.
